Spike Lee remains as one of the most provocative and influential filmmakers, especially in the 90’s. Here are my favorites of Spike’s videos that can be found on YouTube. Documentary
The biggest surprise was finding the entire version of When the Levees Collapsed, a 4 hour documentary on Katrina and New Orleans. This film is Lee’s best non-fiction work and the best Katrina related film I have seen. The film goes to the very roots of the Katrina disaster (the man-made one) following the trails of race, Louisiana oil and politics.
The entire film comes in 26 parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26. If you start with no.1 in full screen you can watch them all in succession rather than going link by link.
