This mans novels transported me numerous times into worlds I would have otherwise missed. A mans' man with a bulls strength he battled stealthy inner-demons to create some of the best literature of the 20th century.

Like all truly great novelists, Styron did not believe in overanalyzing the process and techniques of writing. Like the famous jazz musician said,

"Play everything you know, then play something." Who said that? Miles Davis I think.

I thought this was curious from the visitors page. A curious juxtapositon of random images, but why the strange looks from this man? Does he like me? I don't know who it is. Do you?

(Update: I happened upon him. It's queerstapler.

Deep Finger Cuts

Ingredients:

1 can of any canned food.

Peroxide

Neosporin

Tubular Finger Bandages

A high pain threshold

Directions:

1. Engage in a conversation with someone in the kitchen.

2. While distracted begin opening the can of food.

3. Open the can to where the lid is still dangling from the can, like the open

     hood of a car.

4. Swiftly and carelessly reach for the can with great and deliberate force.

5. Utter your favorite curse-word as you realize your blood is now an

     ingredient, or...

6. Recite the line not in The Matrix, "You don't open the can, the can opens

     you."

Makes: as many cuts as you are careless enough to inflict upon yourself.
